Should is usually followed by an infinitive without ‘to': should 通常後接不帶to的不定式 : You should eat more fresh fruit. 你應該多吃些新鮮水果。 Sometimes should is used without a following infinitive: 有時should 後面不接不定式: I don't always do everything I should. 我並非總是做所有該做的事情。

Should does not change its form, so the third person singular form does not end in ‘-s': should沒有詞形變化，故其第三人稱單數形式也不加-s: She should see a doctor about that cough. 她應該去找醫生看看她那咳嗽。

Questions and negatives are formed without ‘do': 構成疑問句和否定句時不用do: Should we come back later? 我們等會兒回來嗎？ You should not bring up embarrassing topics. 你不應該提起令人尴尬的話題。

The negative form should not is often shortened in conversation or informal writing to shouldn't: 在對話或非正式文體中，其否定形式should not常縮略爲shouldn’t : Those kids shouldn't be in there. 那些孩子不應該在那裏。

Should is often used in question tags: should常用於附加問句中: We should leave a tip, shouldn't we? 我們應該給小費，是不是？

Should has no participles and no infinitive form.

There is no past tense, but should have followed by a past participle can be used for referring to actions that did not happen or for actions that have probably happened: should沒有分詞和不定式形式，也沒有過去式，但should have後接過去分詞可以用來表示沒有發生或很可能已經發生的動作: I should have brought an umbrella (=I did not bring one). 我本來應該帶把傘的。 The meeting should have finished by now (=it is likely it has ended). 會議現在應該已經結束了。
